通訳・翻訳コース希望者へのアドバイス

通訳者の基本は、相手の言いたいことを即座に理解しポイントを掴むこと。
これは日常生活においてもとても役に立つスキルです。
頭の回転も良くなりますし、話も上手になります。
その訓練ができれば、あとは語彙力を付けて、なるべく多くの英語に触れること。
英語のヒヤリング力もさることながら、日本語の表現にも幅を持たせなければならないので、日本語の本を読むことも大切です。
グレッグでは、英語の語彙力と共に時事知識、逐次通訳の基本を徹底的にトレーニングします。

Hi, My name is Christiaan LeBranc.
I'm American, from Boston, Massachusetts.
When I lived in the USA I always dreamed about coming to live and work in Japan because I really like Japanese culture and history.
My dream came true in 1996.

こんにちは、私の名前はChristiaan LeBrancです。
私はマサチューセッツ州ボストン出身のアメリカ人です。
私がアメリカに住んでいたとき、私は日本の文化と歴史が本当に好きなので、日本に住んで働きに来ることをいつも夢見ていました。
私の夢は1996年に実現しました。

経歴

My first job in Japan was working for international import / export company, later I became a corporate language instructor, teaching Business English for a Swiss pharmaceuticalcompany.
I joined Gregg International College in 2003.

日本での最初の仕事は国際的な輸出入会社で働き、後にスイスの製薬会社でビジネス英語を教える企業語学インストラクターになりました。
2003年にグレッグ外語専門学校に就職しました。

I really enjoy meeting new people and teaching, I think that studying should be interesting, challenging and fun, I believe that when you study a second language the first thing you need to do is learn how to listen, the next most important thing is learning new vocabulary words.

私は新しい人と出会い、教えることを本当に楽しんでいます。勉強は面白くてやりがいがあり、楽しくあるべきだと思います。第二言語を勉強するとき、最初にやらなければならないことは聞く方法を学ぶことです。 次に重要なのは新しい語彙を学ぶことです。
